Split system or ducted? Choosing AC for Brisbane homes

5 min read

Brisbane heat isn’t abstract — it shows up as rooms that never quite cool, outdoor units that short-cycle, and power bills that climb through January. The right air conditioning choice starts with how you live in the home, not a brochure photo.

Split systems suit single rooms, extensions and apartments. They’re quick to install, efficient when sized correctly, and easy to zone by simply not running every unit at once. Multi-split gives you several indoor heads on one outdoor unit — useful when roof space or outdoor footprint is tight.

Ducted systems shine when you want whole-home comfort with quieter indoor delivery and zoning. They need ceiling space, a solid outdoor position and a design that accounts for Queensland solar load on west-facing rooms. Skimping on capacity or duct design is the fastest way to an unhappy summer.

We also look at filters, airflow and hygienic cleaning. A well-installed system still underperforms when coils and filters are clogged — which is why decontamination cleaning sits alongside supply, install and service in our air conditioning work.

Not sure which path fits your place? Send us room sizes, a few photos and how you use the space. We’ll come back with a clear recommendation — no fluff.
